I also want to acknowledge that making your first purchase can be overwhelming. There is so much choice and multiple factors to consider when deciding which bowls you want to start with. (Of course, you can expand your collection later!) You want bowls that you feel connected to, bowls that work on the areas you’re interested in and bowls that sound harmonious together.

Before I walk you through the journey to your first crystal singing bowls, there are a few things I want to note.

• You don’t have to be an expert. A lot of our customers come to us as beginners and we’re able to help them build their knowledge and understanding to make a purchase they’re happy with. If there’s something you’re not sure about, just ask!

The 3 steps (plus a bonus) to follow when selecting your first crystal singing bowls

Step #1 - Get familiar with the shop

Step #2 - Find your sounds

Then, explore how the different bowls sound in our sound library. Notice which ones stand out to you and how they make you feel. This is a really good starting point for building a set which you connect to. As I said before, there are no strict rules when selecting singing bowls. How they affect you is completely personal. 

Step #3 - Book a discovery call

Once you’ve done a bit of your own exploration, it’s time to talk to the team. Our discovery calls are a relaxed chat where we make sure you have all the information you need to make a decision, you can ask any questions you have, and we suggest options for bowls that fit your needs. 

We can have this conversation either in person or online. I Know This Girl has showrooms in Bristol which is run by yours truly (Kate, the founder) and Surrey which is run by Kalli (an experienced sound practitioner). If we meet for an in-person consultation, you can try out some of the bowls to experience what they are like to play and walk away with your bowls on the day. The booking fee is discounted from your purchase.

Step #4 (optional) - Join a workshop

While our discovery calls include information about how to make the most of your bowls, if you’d

like a more in-depth learning experience, we offer a foundation workshop at my showroom in Bristol. This covers all the key knowledge about how crystal singing bowls work and how to play them.
