Creating a Sacred Space through Sound, Ceremony and Sleep Support

Participating in a sound bath is a really special experience. It’s a space where people can step away from the rush of everyday life, connect with the present moment, and find peace, inspiration or whatever else their soul is searching for.
It feels like such an honour to be able to hold space for people to meet their own needs in a world that’s so demanding. Ever since I started playing crystal singing bowls, I have been interested in how I could curate my sessions to make them as welcoming, comforting and transformative as possible. In my research, I discovered instruments, items and rituals that, just like singing bowls, had a long history in healing and wellness. The only obstacle was that I struggled to find high-quality products I could be sure were ethically produced and were easily accessible in the UK.
Then I had the realisation… I had started my own crystal singing bowl shop to make high-quality hand-crafted crystal singing bowls accessible to more people. I could do the same with other items that would complement singing bowls. I’m sure other practitioners are looking for ways to expand their sound baths and curate a sacred space. So, I turned I Know This Girl into a shop for sound, ceremony and sleep.
After partnering with Fair Trade artisans, here are the items we have already introduced to support your sound healing practice.
Grounding with our expanded sound collection

The foundation of my sound baths will always be crystal singing bowls. Their angelic sound and healing vibrations hold you and take you into relaxation so you can properly rest and restore. A wonderful way to complement crystal singing bowls is with shakers and chimes. At the beginning, at the end or to create a pause in the middle of your soundscape, they offer a soft, soothing rhythm with the same rich ritualistic history as singing bowls.
The Tingsha chimes offer a bright, awakening sound that’s a great way to mark the end of the session and bring people back into the room after deep relaxation. See it up close.
The Shamanic gourd shaker produces a gentle cascade that feels safe and comforting as people ease into relaxation. Discover this type of shaker.
The rubber seed shaker reminds me of pebbles flowing with the waves. This rhythmic sound is wonderfully mindful. Listen to it yourself.
The nut cluster has a lively song which pairs beautifully with the other shakers to create a grounding soundscape. Watch it being played.

Intentionality with our ceremony collection

Small intentional acts add to the experience of sound baths. They are one of the few places where we are encouraged to slow down and disconnect from worries about the past or future to be in the present moment as we are. We can help people connect with the healing to be found in the present moment through ancient rituals that leave us feeling lighter after the session and beyond.
Incense is a way to activate the senses and bring people into the room. With our incense dish and collection of incense sticks, you can easily set up a scent experience as well as a sound one. See the dish in use.
Palo santo is known for its clearing properties. Use it to shift and brighten energy in the space ahead of sessions and keep it in the room on our palo santo dish to continue to experience its cleansing benefits. Watch a palo santo demonstration.
Cacao ceremonies activate the taste sense while providing an opportunity for heart opening. Whether people are looking to connect to their heart chakra or feel more at peace with themselves, it’s a beautiful ceremony. Our cacao mug is designed to support connection to the cacao and yourself. The ergonomic shape allows you to wrap your hands around the warm liquid and the thumb print is a reminder to pause and rest. See me using the mug. I can recommend ceremonial-grade cacao from ReNurture. You can use my 5% off code on your next purchase, just enter IKNOWKATE at checkout.
The final piece in the ceremony collection is for you, the sound practitioner. I designed a sound meditation cushion that felt fully supportive as you moved your body to play the bowls. This is something I spent a lot of time looking for and I’m so glad I’ve been able to bring it to life. The foam adapts as you shift your hips to play the bowls while also feeling comfortable in moments of stillness.
Every ceremony is made up of intentional rituals. When they expand beyond the sound sphere, the space becomes even more immersive and initiates relaxation, healing and realisations in new ways.
Deep rest with our sleep collection

A sound bath is a safe space to rest in a way we can struggle to with the demands of everyday life. The crystal singing bowls and supportive practices enable the mind and body to engage in restorative processes that feel replenishing and rebalancing. Among the many wellbeing benefits of rest is supporting sleep. So the third and final dimension of the I Know This Girl shop is items that ease sleep.
The sleep mask is an item that I encourage everyone to bring to sound baths because it can help people switch off from the outside world and connect with the sensory experience of the session. It’s also something that can be used at home and while travelling to ease sleep at night. The breathable cotton makes it comfortable to wear and the forest green colour gives it a grounding quality.
There is nothing more sacred to our health and wellbeing than sleep. The restful state we can reach in sound baths and with intentional rituals wherever we are can ease the road to the restorative sleep we all need.
I curated this selection of instruments, items and rituals for sound practitioners who, like me, want to provide a sacred space for their clients. That’s not the only way they can be used. Take them into your personal sound practice at home. Buy them as gifts for loved ones to encourage them to make time for looking after their wellbeing through sound, ceremony and sleep support.
